Jackson Pollock Costume

Covergence, 1952  Jackson Pollock
Introduction
In this assignment I need to make a costume which represents the artwork by one of the famous artists in 20th century.
My artist was Jackson Pollock.

Materials
-shirt
-acrylic paints
-brushes
-chopsticks
-folk
-water
-garbage bags
Creative Process
First I started to research about Jackson Pollock, his paintings, biography, the methods of his paintings. I found out he dropped and spattered the paints with calculation not randomly. To make a costume, I wanted to use a white shirt as a canvas and to paint the same way as Pollock did. I prepared all materials including garbage bags to protect the floor. Then I began to create the shirt with Pollock's painting.

Workflow
After placing garbage bags and shirt on it, I diluted the acrylic paints with water in order to be able to spatter and drip.
Then I started spatter and drip all colors. Some colors were by brushes and others were by chopsticks and folks because Pollock prefered using non-art tools.
Dried the shirt for one day. Pollock Costume was made!
Conclusion
It was difficult to control the dripping, especially when I wanted to create lines with dripping paints. After all colors were painted, I went back to some colors to create the same effect as his painting.  And also getting the right consistency of the paint was not easy either. If they were too liquidy, the paints stained and had blurred edges which i didn't want.
Extra
There was a costume party for the presentation and we're welcomed to bring food, so I made cookies inspired by his painting.
